Opticado Farms
Our Story
Opticado Farms was founded in February 2019 with a clear vision: to cultivate premium-quality avocados in Tanzania while building a sustainable and community-driven agricultural enterprise. What began with the planting of our first Hass avocado seedlings on newly acquired land in Tanzania’s southern region has grown into a thriving operation spanning the Njombe and Bukoba regions. Today, we proudly manage over 10,000 Hass and Fuerte avocado trees, producing more than 200 tonnes per season, with production steadily increasing as our orchards mature.Our journey is rooted in passion, resilience, and a commitment to excellence.
Sustainability & Community Impact
Sustainability is at the heart of our operations.

- Comprehensive pest management programs
- Responsible land management practices
Beyond our own farms, we operate a strong outgrower scheme that includes approximately 1,800 farmers, predominantly women and youth. We also provide avocado seedlings to local communities, creating long-term economic opportunities and strengthening Tanzania’s agricultural future.
